Weingut Mayer am Pfarrplatz: A Legacy in Viennese Winemaking
Weingut Mayer am Pfarrplatz stands as an embodiment of Viennese Heurigen culture, boasting a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1683 in Heiligenstadt. For centuries, the winery has been dedicated to crafting some of the finest Viennese wines.
Vienna holds a unique distinction as the only metropolitan city globally with significant viticultural areas within its boundaries, offering a truly distinctive terroir. The city's wine-growing region spans approximately 640 hectares. Weingut Mayer am Pfarrplatz's village wines flourish in the vineyards of Grinzing, Hernals, and Wiener Nussberg, while their wines from the esteemed single sites of Preussen and Langteufel are classified as Erste Lage.
TASTING NOTES
Delicate aromas of nutmeg, roses and acacia on the nose. The fine fruit flavours are also present on the palate and are wonderfully supported by the mousseux. Mayer Alkoholfrei Prickelnd is a great alternative to sparkling wine or Prosecco. The lively carbonation means you hardly miss the absence of alcohol.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Light salads, seafood, oysters, fresh cheese, vegetarian dishes, appetisers and canapés.
